Lamar University Press released my book Border Lore: Folktales and Legends of South Texas. The volume is already available at Amazon and will soon go live at other major venues.
Translations forthcoming in Axolotl
The literary magazine Axolotl will be publishing my translations of four Nahuatl poems in their upcoming issue.
“Ancient Hunger” wins Kraken
My story “Ancient Hunger, Silent Wings” won one of Devilfish Review’s Kraken Awards: third place in fiction. The piece, a fantasy set in 19th-century New Mexico, appears in their Kraken Award issue.
Strange Horizons reprinting “Winds”
I am pleased to announce that Strange Horizons will be reprinting my science fiction short story “Winds That Stir Vermilion Sands” on June 29. Curating the tale will be the fabulous author and journalist Sabrina Vourvoulias.
